Using CareWait, parents gain online access to apply for childcare assistance with your Program.
However, for parent(s) that may not have the means or access to the internet to apply on their own, a proxy application is also available. This article will walk you through the steps to add a new application on behalf of parents and guardians as a CareWait user.
- Login in to your CareWait account.
- Navigate to the New Application tab on the menu bar at the top of the screen.
- This will open the new proxy application page with 4 different sections: Family, Parent, Child, and Criteria, that contain the same information as when a parent is filling out their online application.
A. Family
The Family tab is the first section when creating a New Application. This section in the application captures the general information for the family.
Fill out the information for all available fields as needed and select Next at the bottom right corner to continue to the next section.
TIP: Fields marked with the asterisk (*) are required.
B. Parent
The Parent tab is the second section when creating a New Application. This section in the application captures the parent(s)'s information for the family.
By default, only the Parent A section is available, allowing you to enter information for the primary parent or guardian contact for the family. If the application has two parents, select Add Parent B to fill out the information for the secondary parent in the family.
Fill out the information for all available fields as needed and select Next at the bottom right corner to continue to the next section.
C. Income
The Income tab is the third section when creating a New Application. This section in the application captures the monthly income from the family.
This is where you will input household gross monthly income by type. Each source is deducted from, counted towards, or not counted to the total monthly income. The system will calculate the family's total monthly income. The calculated gross monthly income will be located on the bottom left at the end of the page.
Fill out the information for all necessary fields as needed and select Next at the bottom right corner to continue to the next section.
C. Child
The Child tab is the fourth section when creating a New Application. This section in the application captures the child(ren)'s information in the family.
Initially, only one child section is accessible, allowing you to enter information for the first child in the family. If the application has more than one child, select Add Another to fill out the information for the other child(ren).
Fill out the information for all available fields as needed and select Next at the bottom right corner to continue to the next section.
D. Family Size
The Family Size tab is where it is confirming the size of the family. The calculated family size will appear in large bold font under "Below is the expected size of your family based on the information you have provided."
If the number curated by the system does not reflect the actual household size, insert the correct number in the box below.
If you'd like to finish this section at another time, you can click Save as Draft.
Select Next to proceed with the application.
E. Criteria
The Criteria tab captures the child(ren)'s childcare criteria.
To fill out the criteria for the child(ren) in the application, you must select one child at a time from the Criteria for field.
If the application has multiple child(ren), select Add Another to have the same information for the next child.
Fill out the information for all available fields as needed and select Submit.
F. Add Support Documents
The Document(s) tab is for the parent(s) to upload any documents such as child(ren) birth certificate(s), record(s) of birth, adoption(s), U.S. Census record, etc.
If the parent(s) need help submitting documents, you will click on the box that says I need help submitting documents.
Select Next to proceed with the application
G. Signature
For the final part of the process, you will need to sign in the signature area.
If you wish to re-do the signature, press on the circle on the top left corner of the signature box and it will clear the signature.
After signing, you will need to select the present date and click submit.
