Per CDSS Child Care Bulletin (CCB) 26-22, the Cost of Care Plus (COCP) rate will continue through June 30, 2028. You can review the full CDSS communication here.

This article explains how to keep using Cost of Care Plus (COCP) rates, either by extending rates you've already set up or by adding them for the first time.

Extending Existing COCP Rates

If your COCP rates are already set up, you only need to update their end date.

1. In the Admin module, go to Other Programs and select the COCP rate you want to update. 
   
    
2. Click Edit, update the End Month, and click Save. 
   

Repeat these steps for each COCP rate you use.

Adding New COCP Rates

If you haven't set up COCP rates yet, add one for each region and provider type you serve. A user with the Admin role only needs to do this once.

1. In the Admin module, go to Other Programs and click +New. 
   
    
2. Complete the following fields:
   • Name: The region and provider type (for example, "Central – License-Exempt").
   • Code: A single string of letters and numbers the system uses to identify the rate.
   • Amount Type: Select Set Amount.
   • Amount: Enter the rate for that region and provider type.
   • Start Month: July 2026
   • End Month: June 2028
3. Click Save, then repeat for each remaining COCP rate relevant to your service area.
