Import Students From File & Import Contacts From File

Access CareConnect Provider mobile app (iOS and Android) or CareConnect Provider Web.

Aside from the quick add and the enroll family option, batch import is another option that can be used to add students to CareConnect. The "Import Students From File" and "Import Contacts From File" allow the provider to rapidly import many students/contacts at once. This guide provides a written tutorial on how to import students/contacts from a file. 

Step 1. Download the template file to get more information on an acceptable import file.

A. Instructions before importing students from a file:

 i. the Template File must be in .csv format. 

- if the file that you plan to import is not in this format, you can use an online editor to convert the file into .csv format.

ii. Column "StudentID" if left blank, the child will be assigned a default ChildID from CC4
iii. Any dates ensure the entry is "yyyymmdd".

    - ex: March 20th, 2021 should be shown as "20210320"
iv. Student(s) if successfully imported will have a default schedule hour created based on the Site/Classroom/Program details in the template.
v. Ensure to review for editing or correcting the child care schedule if needed.

B. Instructions before importing contacts from the file:

 i. Template File must be in .csv format

- if the file that you plan to import is not in this format, you can use an online editor to convert the file into .csv format.

ii. Columns "StudentID" and "ContactID" are not a required fields and may be left blank
iii. Any dates ensure the entry is yyyymmdd

Step 2. Once you have the .csv file ready in the acceptable format, you can click on "IMPORT FROM FILE".

Step 3. A review page with all the information from the CSV file shows up.

- confirm that all the data is displayed accurately, then click on "IMPORT" to add the students to the Students list.

Step 4. When all students are successfully added, the message below, " __ student(s) successfully imported, __ failed".
