CareControl provides different tools for authorizing child care with dual or alternate providers.
How to Add Child Care with a Dual Provider
If the hours of need can not be covered by one primary provider, utilize an existing care to create another child care.
-
Click the Add Secondary Care button along with the applicable Funding Source.
Once the relevant Needs Summary and Care is selected, the child will autofill into the Child field. If there are any hours of need that aren’t already covered by the existing care, the leftover hours will also fill into the child’s schedule. -
Proceed through Step 1 of the Add Care guided steps. Clicking on Next will generate this warning message:
This is ok as long as the hours with the second provider are different from the first provider. Click Continue to proceed with authorizing care.
-
Click on the hyperlinked ID in this window to view the Care Details of the other overlapping care.
-
-
The leftover hours of need will fill into each care schedule. Re-calculate and readjust if needed, then proceed to Step 3 to add the rates and finish authorizing the care.
-
Clicking Submit will bring up an additional window asking once more to confirm adding this additional care. Make sure to choose Keep so that the first care does not get deleted.
-
Click Done on this second pop-up, generate payments as needed, and verify if everything was input correctly within the newly added Care Details window.
How to Add Child Care with an Alternate Provider
-
Click the Add Care button along with the applicable funding source.
-
The Child, Case, and Start/End Dates will automatically fill. Checkmark the Is Alternate box to ensure that the care will register as an alternate provider.
-
Proceed with the rest of the guided steps and generate payments if needed.
