For CareConnect's first CAPSDAC 2.0 submission, an unexpected logic change has been brought to our attention regarding the Effective Start Date column in the Child domain, where any children who started care before this fiscal year will need to be reported with a value of 7/1/2026.
As a result, manual fixes will need to be made this month as our team works to have a fix implemented on August 17, 2026 in a new release version. This update will automatically identify values before the fiscal year of the report month and change them to the beginning of July.
How to Correct CAPSDAC 2.0 - Child domain
- Generate and export the report with your latest data available. Please see this article for more information on the process and how to set up your environment.
- Open the downloaded file in Excel. The following popup should appear asking if you would like to convert leading zeroes. Select "Don't Convert"
If you do not see the popup, you will need to navigate to your Excel options under Data and check "When loading a .csv file or similar file, notify me of any automatic data conversions" as Yes. Redownload the file and select "Don't Convert" - Navigate to the last column and identify any values before July 1st, 2026. Change them to "20260701"
To assist in finding the relevant rows and to ensure dates after 7/1/2026 are not accidentally modified, we can sort by least to most recent date by selecting all data on the sheet and clicking the Sort button in the Data tab. This will display a popup, where we can indicate to sort by "Column AA" and make sure to uncheck the "My data has headers" box - Save your changes and upload to CAPSDAC
