While the most important details are your current vacancies, there are many other ways to make your profile more appealing and effective. The more complete and welcoming your profile is, the more likely parents are to reach out to you.
Use Insights to see how many people have seen your profile on the map, your Reaches, and how many parents clicked on your profile to look at it, your Views.

Step 1: Make Sure Families Can Find You
Parents use filters when searching for care. If certain fields in your profile are left blank, your program might not appear in their search results.
Tips:
- Fill out all the fields under your basic information (ages served, hours, openings, program type, etc.).
- These details help your local agency and families match with your program.
- Remember: the free-text description sections are not searchable, but they are important for helping families learn more once they find you.
Step 2: Check What Families See First
When families browse search results, they’ll first see:
- Your logo
- Your header image
- The first three lines of your program description
Make these count!
Logo
A great logo helps your program look professional and inviting.
- Use a clear, bright image (not blurry or pixelated).
- If you don’t have a logo, you can easily make one using free AI tools like Canva, Looka, or Adobe Express.
- Enter your program name and a few words like “play-based care” or “nature-inspired preschool” to generate ideas.
- Choose a simple design with readable text and friendly colors.
Header Image
Your header photo should be warm and welcoming.
- Try using a picture of your classroom, outdoor play area, or a cheerful space where children spend their day.
- Preview your profile to make sure the image looks clear and well-framed.
Program Description
This is your first chance to connect with families. The first three lines should encourage them to click and learn more.
Examples of welcoming introductions:
- “We offer a warm, home-based environment where children learn and grow through play every day.”
- “Our preschool combines nurturing care with hands-on learning to help every child discover their strengths.”
- “At Little Sprouts, we focus on curiosity, kindness, and creativity in everything we do.”
Step 3: Add Great Photos
Once a parent opens your profile, photos help them imagine their child in your care.
Tips:
- Add multiple photos showing different areas — play spaces, outdoor areas, art activities, nap areas, etc.
- Preview your profile to check that images display correctly.
- If your profile includes photos of children, parental permission is required.
Step 4: Use Notes to Share More Details
After filling out the searchable fields, you can add notes to help families understand your program more quickly.
Special Needs Notes
Use this space to share how you support children with diverse needs.
Examples:
- “We welcome children of all abilities and provide individualized support.”
- “Our staff has experience supporting children with speech and sensory needs.”
- “We work closely with families and specialists to ensure every child feels included.”
Transportation Notes
If you offer or arrange transportation, be specific.
Examples:
- “We walk children to and from the nearby elementary school.”
- “Our program offers morning pickup from local neighborhoods.”
- “We have a dedicated driver who transports children safely to our center each day.”
Assistance Information
Families often look for programs that accept various assistance types.
Examples:
- “We accept all types of child care assistance.”
- “We’re happy to work with your family’s subsidy program.”
- “Please contact us if you have questions about payment options or financial assistance.”
Step 5: Add Program Details and Schedule Notes
Under the Programs section, you can describe how your program operates. This is your chance to explain your approach, daily rhythm, and what families can expect.
- Example short preschool schedule:
- 7:30 – Drop-off and free play
- 9:00 – Circle time and morning snack
- 9:30 – Learning centers and outdoor play
- 11:30 – Lunch and quiet time
- 12:30 – Nap or rest time
- 2:30 – Snack and afternoon activities
Step 6: Keep Your Vacancies Up to Date
Vacancy information is the most important part of your profile.
Tips:
- Always keep your vacancies current.
- Update right away if a spot opens or fills.
- Use the notes field to add helpful details.
Why It Matters
A complete, up-to-date profile helps families find your program more easily — and helps them feel confident in reaching out. By combining accurate details, great visuals, and a friendly tone, you can make your CareConnect profile stand out to families looking for child care.
